Scott Free

Scott Free has been performing semi-professionally for several years and on varying stages.

They are known for creating/altering all their own costuming and using makeup effects to make each performance unique. Although Scott does have some formal dance training, what they feel define their style is the physical set backs they've overcome to give their dance a "jagged" edge to it.

The majority of their work has been for charitable organizations (Transgender Youth Alliance, Vancouver Dyke March, and various youth-oriented safe houses) so little visual record is available. However some of their work with Drag King Vancouver is still available online.

Scott has performed under the moniker "Alice" in order to lend some credence to their few more feminine performances.

With a background centered in theatre and acting they believe that their dances are a part of a storytelling experience and that each time they are trying to act a different character.

Scott took up the MC position officially when a hired MC wasn't able to make a show on less than an hour's notice and found it difficult to put down ever since. They're hoping to try improv comedy but for now genuinely enjoy "goofing around" on stage. After that night they moved on to MC (and perform) at Club 23, The Odyssey, Lick, & Diavolo. Though they've also had the good fortune to perform at Side Show Sam's (in Victoria), the Nova Scotia Theatre, and Penthouse.

Co-performers have often referred to Scott as "The Chameleon" because of the shifting nature of their style of dance, costume and makeup to make each time they take the stage a different experience for the audience. Whether it's behind the mic or shaking their ass Scott believes it's important to give the audience a little more than they'd bargained for.
